Peace-of-Mind Cremation Process

Our greatest concern is to provide our families with the peace-of-mind they are entitled to during the cremation process. As a result, we have developed the highest level of operating policies and procedures in order to maximize our level of service and minimize the potential for human error. To accomplish this we have created a ten-step "Peace-of-Mind Cremation Process". In addition to this process, we require licensed professionals who are also certified as operators by the manufacturer, to oversee the operation of our cremation equipment. We also monitor and record all activities in our crematory 24-hours a day using a closed circuit DVR system and a security system. None of these safeguards are required by law and no other cremation facility in the state can match our rigid operating procedures. With the responsibility you have entrusted us, you should expect nothing less. Our crematories are open for inspection during normal business hours and we allow family members to be in attendance during the cremation process.

10 Step Peace-of-Mind Cremation Process
Five Steps Prior to Cremation
  1. step 1 - proper identification of remainsProper identification of remains at the funeral home or cremation provider is a key part of the cremation process. At our facility, we confirm that the remains that are labeled on the cremation container, match tagged identification of your loved one.

  2. Your loved one's information is logged onto our received remains tracking log which is signed by the funeral home or cremation service that is providing the transportation. At that time our professional staff attaches to our tracking slip an ID medallion with its own tracking number that will accompany the remains throughout the cremation.

  3. step 2 - information is loggedA state appointed Medical Examiner has viewed your loved one and/or has reviewed the death certificate information and completes and signs the medical examiners release for cremation form.

  4. Our staff checks your loved ones remains for any jewelry, personal belongings, glasses, and battery operated prosthetic devices, or anything that should be removed before cremation.

  5. The crematory operator reviews all paperwork, including the death certificate, cremation permit, medical examiners release for cremation, and the Pine Grove Crematorium Authorization for Cremation Form. Once all the information is in order and verified then the cremation is scheduled.

Five Steps During and After Cremation
  1. step 6 - information is logged into the crematorYour loved one information is logged into the microprocessor controller on the cremator by name and identification number which will allow the machine to start.

  2. After the cremation, the crematory operator removes all of the cremated remains from the crematory chamber. The cremated remains are then cooled and processed having the tracking slip attached to the required equipment at each step of this process.

  3. The cremated remains along with the ID medallion are placed in the permanent or temporary urn selected by the family. The urn isstep 7 - cremated remains are removed affixed with proper labeling that identifies your loved one and the tracking number.

  4. The family member, funeral director, or designated person noted on a directive for release of cremated remains form by the closest next-of-kin signs the form that they have received the cremated remains.

  5. Information regarding the cremation itself is recorded on a microchip on the cremator microprocessor controller with a complete detail of the actual process. A cremation certificate is created and certified by the crematory operator and is placed with the cremated remains of your step 10 - information is recorded on a microchip on the

microprocessor controllerloved one. All paperwork is placed onto the Pine Grove Crematorium data base and all original paperwork is kept as a permanent record.
